I'm trying to perform a trace from a player's viewpoint. I'm using TR_TraceRayFilterEx at the moment, and it appears to be working fine, except that the trace hits the player from whose viewpoint I'm tracing. I wrote a filter function which compares the current entity to a global that stores the entity I don't want the trace to hit, but returning false doesn't make the trace miss. I even tried returning false always, and it still behaved the same. I don't know if this is a bug or if there's some flag I need to send to the trace function (currently using MASK_SHOT) or what. I suppose I could add the direction vector to the start position and hope it gets outside the player's hitbox, but that makes it possible for a hit on another client to be missed, and I imagine such wouldn't work when aiming down. Blah.
