#1

Hey, I was wondering if I could change the weapon config file with out modifying the nm_server.cfg... Ive tried writing a cfg and then executing it via rcon but it doesnt work. Ive also tried giving my admin level access to nm_weaponconfig_file but that doesn't work either. IS IT POSIBLE? If not, could u add it to a future release?

It can be changed whenever you want. nm_weaponconfig_file is a convar like mp_timelimit and not a command so you can't just use it as a normal command.

The way I've done this so far is just to have a few different weapon config files, then just rename the one I want to weapons.cfg and run nm_reloadweaponscfg from the console.

i.e.

weapons.cfg <Currently Active file
weaponsM249500.cfg <File I want to use

In this case, I would rename weapons.cfg to 'weaponsORIGINAL.cfg' and weaponsM249500.cfg to 'weapons.cfg', then just type "nm_reloadweaponscfg" in the console.

The changeover is instant, and it only requires a couple alt-tabs and some file renaming.

or you could just do this
nm_weaponconfig_file "cfg/nemod/weaponsM249500.cfg"

Not sure if when you change nm_weaponconfig_file it will reload it aswell.

That was how I originally intended to do it, and I would do that every time if I could remember the names of my damned weapons config files! ;)

The new version will have it so all the nm_reload* commands will have an optional parameter to set the config file so you can do nm_reloadweaponcfg "cfg/nemod/weaponsM249500.cfg"

^^That will be handy.

Would it be possible to have an nm_reload that would just reload everything?

This would be handy for setting up changes that require more than one file to be changed.
