That's effectively the method I've been using for years that's no longer working.

Try redownloading sourcemod and compiling the built-in plugins, also if possible record a video so others can help.

Could be antivirus (windows defender) blocking compiler action.
You could try look "properties" from *.exe program.
There is usually checkmark about file coming from another computer nonsense.

Reinstalled Sourcemod+Metamod, Disabled Windows Firewall, Added an exclusion to my Antivirus, compile.exe properties all look normal. Not sure what else to try :/

Firewall has nothing to do with this. Its usually Antivirus and exceptions or pausing antivirus will do nothing here. It's usually caused by the antivirus ransomware protection so it "locks" folders and files where people usually put personals and photos, which are also the places ransomware attacks to encrypt them and then ask for money to offer decryption. Ive have the same problem with Avast products specifically. Some antimalware products might not even allow you to change the folders being protected. You can temporarily uninstall your antivirus solution to test this is the case though. Specific folders protected under ransomware protection should be listed within the software though so you should be able to check which folders are those.

Yeah i would also say that it is either a permission problem or just antimalware software blocking it.

if you have second hard drive, download SM zip and take scripting folder only and place in that another drive.
Double click compile.exe and look inside compiled folder.
Does it compile plugins *.smx ?

Because I don't have any problems...

*edit

By the way, how you unzip SM zip package ? What program ?

Oh okay interesting, after moving the scripting folder I can compile in this environment, but only with drag and drop, still get "Internal Error" if I try to "Open With" "compile.exe", weird because I thought that was basically the same thing. Well thanks for the recommendation!

Dont think it works with "Open with". You can drop an sp file onto the compile.exe and it will compile as it compiles the script files supplied as arguments. Can also just open cmd and do: compile.exe .\pathtothe.sp
