Wondering if I can protect my servers if I'm hosting the servers myself?
Some of the ideas that I have in hand atm is the following:
1) VPN
2) Reverse Proxy ( not sure if it is allowed )

Possible to list any other protection that works for CSGO?

NOTE:
I do not want to host the servers online/vps/game server provider.

Thanks !

Theoretically a reverse proxy could work but I'm not sure how would you even go with getting it to work, it's not as simple as making an nginx config like that sadly

Code:
# server block
location /srcds
{
    proxy_pass IP_ADDRESS:PORT;
}

If you have a lot of money you can buy proxy method but ping of your server will be another.

unfortunately there is so much you can do for DDoS attacks.
I personally just gave up and went with OVH, their servers in the end aren't bad at all and the free DDoS protection works wonders for me.

NFO has terrible DDOS protection. Attacks larger than 10GB/s or 500,000 Ppks = 24 hour ip nullroute.

OVH is time way to go.

There are some good iptables floating around, you can probably add at least the accept rules for PPS on your ports.

Depends on the location you go with for NFO, Their Dallas & CHI locations work wonders for us. We recently built a machine and placed it with Psychz, Having a better overall protection with them currently.

As for the OP the best would be if you'll be hosting from home best bet is to invest in some network grade hardware like cisco guard or watchguard, otherwise you'll end up at a provider that offers protection.
