HLDS console (serverdoc)

ok... now i have a non-steam hlds, i entered C:\hlserver\hlds.exe in the serverdoc, and when i start the serverdoc, this small console appear. i dont know if its the server but when this console is open and i searh in the servers i find nothing and the ip dont work... what is the problem? i just want to make my server reboot when it crash

Remember the IP it shows on the cmd window isn't your real IP, just your network ip.

Did you try connecting with your real IP?

If you don't know what it is, go to http://www.whatismyip.com

Also, you won't be able to connect to your server if your running it off the same computer, unless you change the server port to something like 27016.

Otherwise you'll be trying to access the same port at the same time, and it won't happen.

Did you think maybe you have to load a map?
Make a text file in your cstrike folder and rename it autoexec.cfg. Iinside the file put the following

Code:

maxplayers 10
log on

map de_dust

it will load that map on the first load enable logging and set your maxplayers.

Anyway, That was a problem I was having in the past when I tried to make a dedicated server on my computer (WON Days)

I totally missed his last statement about making his server reboot after a crash.

jtp did you see the picture? what is this damn console...its the server or not? and if its not, what i need to do with it? i dont know whats is log on but i can set the max players in ServerDoc with -command -game cstrike -map de_dust -maxplayers 18

there is nothing about serverdoc i thought but it helps you instaling your server right

thank you wouter... but it dont explain how the small console work... i created a config.cfg file in the folder cstrike but nothing chnaged...
