#1

so ive been using nfo for over 2 years, ive been ddosed a few times, most of the times they just filter it and sometimes the attack is too big so they just null route for 8 hours at a time.

almost 8 months has gone by since the last big attack, i love nfo they are really good hosts especially in as a GSP but they have virtually no ddos protection and ive been getting hit for the second day straight now and the attacks have been on and off

My servers are located at their LA center which has 20,000 mb bandwidth

https://www.nfoservers.com/networklocations.php

i need help finding a good host with good ddos protection that actually filters bad packets out instead of just null routing the server, i was thinking of OVH but they have no servers in the US

NFO's LA location has issues and cannot tolerate large DDoS attacks but they can't do anything until Internap upgrades their infrastructure (their words). Have you tried a different location to see if it is any different?

I have mine with frag ready.... they got great deals on dedicated boxes if you provide the OS at such a cheap price vs renting a instance of the game you can run several from one box for a little bit over the same price.

I haven't seen a ddos attack in a very long time as everyone gets em but if I had one it was gone in about 1 minute if I had one which again have been super rare.

Click on my link in the signature if you check em out.

right im running an 8-core VDS from nfo and can add many games as I want(can), how is their webpanel compare to NFOs, are their servers managed/unmanaged

only other data center with higher bandwidth is in chicago, with a 1000 mbps difference

It is actually 10Gb difference, not 1Gb. Just because the bandwidth is the same/different, doesn't mean that you won't get a different outcome at another location as different hardware is involved. It is worth a shot since you can migrate your VDS for free (but you'll lose the IPs).

from what I hear 30 GB attacks are common nowadays anyways, ddos attacks get bigger and bigger

I guess its worth a try though

Lets get things back on topic..

I dont know much about US servers, but Horsedicks experience should sway your decision. DDOS is really not fun

I've had pretty good experience so far with the host...they are getting ready to upgrade to a brand new Tier3 facility very soon with no change of IP's or anything so that news alone is super.

President evil have you found a host yet?
I thought nfoservers were the best when it comes to ddos protection, but I guess I was wrong.

To be honest I wish there was a great competitor to nfoservers. It's hard to find one as good, so their prices and their policy on them are tough.

Been looking for an alternative with good ddos protection. I have a lot of other vps providers I know of that is great with price, but not so great with ddos protection. So I stayed with nfo.
