As the sole maiden of the Hakurei Shrine, she is commonly "called upon" to investigate strange occurrences throughout Gensokyo.
For a while, she was observing the battles the TF2 mercenaries had against Saxton Hale while they were visiting her shrine, and was not impressed by the lack of donations in the donations box. One day, the mercenaries decided to take over the shrine after defeating Saxton Hale, and Reimu decided that she has had enough and decided to test their strength by having them face her instead (she carries mementos from a defeated soldier)..
Note the last two tracks aren't really her official themes, but i couldn't resist not adding them as the former is a modernized version of the latter, as the latter song was the theme of levels 1-4, Jigoku levels 16-19 in Highly Responsive To Prayers, and you guessed it, Reimu was the only playable character at the time. So the last two are basically bonus themes.
While she sports plenty of HP to face an army of Soldiers or Heavies, her attack is slightly weak. However, she can deliver a powerful rage, which can make her unpredictable, as it teleports her instantly to a random player with a short ubercharge, while clones spawn at her previous or current location, making her lethal. While she lacks super jumping abilities, she has a fast-loading teleportation ability for quick escapes to compensate. In addition, a health pack drops upon a kill she makes.
Those using the version with 4 lives (or the optional 3 life version), when she fails an attempt, she will activate her Fantasy Nature spellcard, a powerful, yet deadly move as her ability to float renders her intangible while this spellcard is active (3 second matrix attack + invisiblity)
Now uses all 3 vaccinator resistances for Uber. instant tele rage integrated into reimu's resistance rage.
life configs now in a single download. Also added stripped versions for those not needing fastDL
See older version changes:
Health formula fixed for the multiple life versions
Killstreaks enabled (will now show as a Killstreak Disciplinary Action)
Added an optional Reimu x 3 package for those who want to use a reimu with 3 lives instead of 4 lives.
-Player stun returns, only stuns for 2 seconds where the clone spawns.
-Rage only produces a single clone with the following:
Sports a maximum of 1500HP (can be increased/decreased to your liking)
Instantly kill players
Can be instantly killed by an enemy soldier/demoman wielding the same weapon
Cannot be healed
Damage increases as HP lowers
Speed increases as HP lowers
-Added more sounds
-Added more bgms
-Combo Superjump/Teleport. If you release the charge before 100%, it's a superjump. If you release the charge at 100%, it's a teleport.
-You can multi-jump as long as your charge is under 100%, as a makeshift "floating" capability.
-Chance of simultaneous superjump/teleport at 100% charge.
-Restored health formula to "((700+n)*n)^1.04" for 1x, "((700+n)*n)^1.04/4" for 4x, respectively.
-Death: When you are killed, you leave a posthumous donation (a recurring gag in Touhou fanculture is that it is implied that she never gets any donations at the Hakurei Shrine's donation box.),
-Removed player stun when Reimu rages (stun will only affect sentry guns now).
-Sentry Gun stun duration increased to 10 seconds
-Increased damage penalty from 70% to 75%
-Larger sentry gun stun radius.
-Small health nerf:
Reimu 1 x from "((750+n)*n)^1.04" to "((667+n)*n)^1.04".
Reimu 4 x from "((750+n)*n)^1.04/4" to "((600+n)*n)^1.04/4"
-Damage needed for rage increased to 2500
-Duration of death effect matrix attack + invisibility reduced to 3 seconds (originally 5)
-Removed Uber on death effect
-Recharge time per teleportation reduced to 10 seconds from 15 seconds
-Reduced stun time to 5 seconds for players, 8 for sentry guns
-If downloading just the cfg to update an existing install, Reimu1x.cfg is the single life version, Reimu4x.cfg is the 4 life version of the boss. If only using one of the two, just rename to Reimu.cfg, but don't rename if you're gonna use both versions.
The model is compatible with all current taunts, the screenshot depicts her performing the "Fresh Brewed Victory" taunt.
She doesn't really die on defeat, just uses Fantasy Nature to escape.
Looks like you may be right about having to modify OnTakeDamage, so that the maximum damage it can do isn't lethal. Here's a screenshot of the highest amount of damage from a duel kill with the half-zatoichi version of the boss (disciplinary action version is the one available for download):
