Go to your C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\tf\download\soun d\ and see if freak_fortress_2\seeman\seeman_see.wav (etc.) exist. If they don't, that means there's something wrong with the downloads. If they do exist, delete them and the game will re-download them for you.

(If you don't have a Steam directory in Program Files, try Program Files (x86))

EDIT: Hurr random space in \sound\, nothing I can do about it...

If this is an sv_pure 1 server, the FF2 models, materials, and sound directories should all be whitelisted.

I'm having the exact same issues, but on any VSH server I play on including my own and various others.

The files are in my downloads/sound/saxton_hale folder as they should be. I tried deleting them and having them redownloaded, but that didn't help at all.

On my own server and other servers I tested this on, the same sound files were working just fine a day ago. There's been no update or anything.

I verified the integrity of my game files through steam as well.

My friends are not experiencing this issue.

I run W8 64bit.

Horseman files work because those are part of the game already.

My custom vpk'd sounds work.

The brofist sound on my server works fine.

Only hale files are broken for me somehow.

Playing the hale files in windows media player works just fine.

Huh, that's weird. Usually the sound files won't be able to be played in WMP, indicating that you need to download them again. Are you sure the errors you're getting in the client console are the same paths as the ones you have downloaded?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\download\sound\saxton_hale

saxton_hale_responce_start2.wav
saxton_hale_responce_lastman5.wav

Not even the Millionaire's Holiday plays anymore.

After joining some server with some weird giltchy sounds, suddenly mines work again.

I recon the server may have done something to my sounds or something.

68.68.32.204:27015

These are some other servers I've been visiting, some of them play custom songs in the background and stuff. I dunno if it's related at all but at least one of these servers crashes me when I leave them.

173.208.81.98:27045

Edit: His voice is weird, kinda robotized like his "Nooo.." somehow. And now millionaire's holiday doesn't play again. The robot effect happens to vagineer too.

It's was Sv_pure 1 back before the update which actually worked pretty well no soundfiles failed at all but then when the update came it screwed up

Yeah, after going to voidy's hale server, hale/vagineer's voices fixed. Millionaire's holiday still won't, and his Astronaut voices stopped loading for me as well.

I blame Valve.
