Hi,
I wanna make a server without amxmodx, and with all bugs fixed. So if I download the latest version of HLDS with SteamCMD, all of the bugs are fixed? Tell me so it never crashes? And I NEVER use the fucking dproto so don't say "no it will not crash if u dont use dproto" etc..

the new version of HLDS is known as having a lot of fixed bugs, and incompatible with old versions of dproto. this dosen't mean it's stable and reliable at 100%.

New hlds (6027) still has bug, in .res file you can't use //. Also some map crash because of wad. I already make a .res file to include .wad file but it still crash.. i need to manually precache certain wad files using a module.

So why, everyone tell us to update the server?
Why just tell remove, the dproto, you know ...

Do you think remove dproto is the best solution? this is engine bug, so if don't have dproto installed on server then what we gonna do? also in 5758 there are an exploit that people can upload files to server and make fun on your server, do you want this to happen on your server? well client is up to date and server need up to date too.

By the the map related bug has been reported on Valve's Github channel but they are lazy ass to fix the game nowday, HL1 based games stopped update since May 2013. Next year valve will fix this shit maybe.

Their oncoming update will just break the possibility of having dual protocol and the usage of dproto. When it will happen... not sure.

As for updating the server, it has the latest fixes and the best client compatibility. The old engine is just causing problems for players and users. Most complaints on these forums are because people haven't updated to the latest build provided by SteamCMD. If you follow the rules and want to have support on these forums, stick with getting the latest update and latest build. Its as simple as that.

There is another patch that is not a module (SWDS). But even if that is not going to be used, a eproto, cproto, sproto, (fucking)proto EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE
