[Req] Sorting Tutorial (like top15)

I need a tutorial about doing an special top15 i have tried many times but i couldnt find how can do it. I looked some plugins like what i want but i didnt understand anything. For example how can i sort the top15 items? Itried sorting codes in the sorting.inc but i couldnt do that.

any one can help me ? (sory for my english)

As for help: if you store data using sql then you don't need to sort anything.
