It does fix in linux. I highly recommend you ask for help in the hlds mailing lists, since this seems like a bug in the windows release.

EDIT: I've just tested it in my Windows dedicated server and I can't crash the server with the autobuy bug.

binded "TAB" "+showscores;cl_setautobuy fuck 12345678901234567890123456789012" while having a string longer than 32 in autobuy.txt file,

entered server, pressed tab, result:
