It is said that, when you use l4dtoolz, you need to set l4d_maxplayers to -1 for Left4Downtown. If you have a problem with L4Downtown, I don't thing it's the good topic... See on the Left4Downtown topic.

1.1.0.0 was the recompile I posted 2 days ago (if the file size is 227kb), the one which you guys said didn't work.
I happend to change the version number by mistake and deleted the file as soon as I heard it wasn't working.

This version should not be used, delete it and use the new offficial 1.0.09f version that Ivailosp just posted.

it is a clean (contains no mods) _standart_ setup with mm-1.8.7, sm-1.4 and L4DToolZ 1.0.0.10RC2 which is working on my server and also confirmed by rava to work on his server.

add this to your server.cfg:

sv_maxplayers 20
sv_removehumanlimit 1
sv_unlock_sb_add 0
sv_force_unreserved 1
sv_visiblemaxplayers -1

So the guys that had problems must have had a bad version of SM or MM:S.
The problem was never l4dtoolz related

04.11.2011 egnine.so update -> l4dtoolz not working on most systems
18.11.2011 engine.so update -> everything working fine again with the same old files
