Hi guys. So I've read the forum rules and all but this line bothers me the most:

Just to be clear, I DO agree with this practice as it prevents threads from being spammed with irrelevant replies as well as causing new threads to be unseen and pushed behind.

However, I was wondering what happens if my thread gets seen but with no replies and gets pushed behind the first few pages? How can I make it more visible without having to violate the rules?

You can't.

Edit: A rule of thumb is to wait 14 days before bumping.

Oh ok, so from that sentence, I can safely say bumping is only allowed if the thread is 14 days old and has not receive any replies within those days?

Since the official rules tells you that you should not bump your threads, and that the rules doesn't point out any exceptions, this means that there is no exceptions at all.

That's the only "safe" assumption you can make.


Unofficial statements suggesting that a specific # of days is acceptable, such as:

i think that a thread has no replies that's because the question of that thread is not described clearly by the author
and if the author is not going to post a reply with a further description, he had better not bump his thread again.

there are always a lots helpers around, so you really dont have to worry about whether your thread is able to be seen or not. what's more, if they cant help you solve your question, or they are not interested in your thread, they also will not enter your thread

so please, try your best to write your every post detailed more, this will be better for everyone

Bumping after 14 days is well known as being acceptable here (as stated by moderators).

Also realize that there is no guarantee that your question will ever get an answer. But, Jerry does have a point. If your question/post is not detailed enough it will certainly not help get any responses.
