It's been quite a lot of time. When will it be?

well, bugs are being reported and PRs are being merged on github quite often still

1.8.3 is already stable enough to run in production, and if people don't use it then the more obscure bugs will never be found

I guess it will happen when the leads feel it's safe enough to do, and at the moment I doubt it's the case (at least I wouldn't)

When I'm using build #5142, on any amx_* console commands server responds like this:
Code:
] amxx rcon "echo 123"
AMX Mod X 1.8.3-dev+5142
Authors:
David "BAILOPAN" Anderson, Pavol "PM OnoTo" Marko, Felix "SniperBeamer" Geyer
Jonny "Got His Gun" Bergstrom, Lukasz "SidLuke" Wlasinski
Christian "Basic-Master" Hammacher, Borja "faluco" Ferrer
         Scott "DS" Ehlert
Compiled: Sep 25 2017, 07:54:04
URL:http://www.amxmodx.org/
Core mode: JIT
And the sended command is not executed.
What build more suitable and stable for using?

At some point someone has to "feature freeze" it and only fix bugs. Until you feature freeze it, there's really no hope of a release.

Also, it should probably be called 2.0.0 since it's had significant changes to the core modules and has deprecated important functions/forwards used in plugins.

There's no "amxx rcon" AFAIK. You are most likely looking for "amx_rcon" or "amx_showrcon".

It should be 1.9.0. It had no backwards-incompatible changes or API breakage, which is usually what the major version signifies.

There is no universal version number methodology, every person/company does it differently.

But the most important part is to stop making major changes so that all the bugs can be found so that it can be release.

LOL. Totally forgot about AMXX command syntax, somehow had the idea to write commands like in ULX in GMOD, this addon contains such commands as in AMXX, for example: 'ulx rcon' or 'ulx kick'
