models/player.mdl not found.

Whenever I start up my server and join it, this message appears, and the server shuts down. I've searched for the players.mdl file in the counter-strike/cstrike/models folder, but there isn't such a file there. It's very annoying and frustrating, but the funny thing is that I can just restart the server and it works. But I want an error-free server, so that's why I'm posting this.

Well, it cant find that folder... and what kinda heroes u use? if u use heroes with player models, u need to add here: models\player\*name*\*skinname*... ex models\player\gundam\gundam.mdl....

so make a folder called player, and add all the player models as i said... then it should work

I've always had it like that. Every single model I've ever played with, is on my dedicated server as well, so that can't be the problem. And I don't use any heroes, nor any plugins that require any type of player model.

dont' run a dedicated server, run a stand alone

Isn't a dedicated server a server that can run without there having to be someone on it? Thus making a stand-alone server dedicated.

Yes, no one has to be on it for it be online and working.

Ok, I've got it now, but how exactly does it work? I try to open it but it quickly closes rigth after.

Go into command prompt, type in:

cd c:\<path to the update tool>

Then type:

hldsupdatetool.exe -update <game> <serverdir> <steam username> <steam password> Y
