Hello all,

We've run into a weird case of high var (high CPU usage) on our dedicated servers. Weird part being, the variance goes and remains high (~3) when the GOTV broadcast starts and stays for approximately the gotv delay (105s in our case). So am talking about high var somewhere around the 3rd round. Rest of the game runs smooth. We've confirmed that the behaviour is same without sourcemod and metamod.

Using
Code:
perf record -p <pid> -g
we also found that every instance of such high var was associated with high CPU usage by an object in engine.so as shown here (The address remains the same in every run)

Game Config: 128 Tick, 16 slot (10 players, 6 spectators), GOTV1 and GOTV2 enabled, delay 105s, GOTV tickrate 32

CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2666 v3 @ 2.90GHz
OS: Ubuntu 14.04.4

That's an expected result from running a highly demanding game with a processor like E5-2666.
CS:GO typically requires a processor like an E7-8893 v3 or better yet a i7-8700K.

2x2.4GHz, 2GB RAM, var ~6, 16 online
Try to optimize your plugins algorithms. Or reduce them.

What plugins? This is the SRCDS subforum, not the Sourcemod subforum. What makes you think there are plugins?
