try to use !play @all vo/npc/vortigaunt/vortigese12.wav

and hear the beauty. but do you find that folder in sounds folder? no you dont. and even if u copy paste that, you still dont find it

annoying right? imma find more and make a list in case annyone wants. and if u guys know some pls just post them below

You know how you asked about models in another thread?

Did you notice the same directory I mentioned for the hl2 models also has VPK files with the word sound in their filenames?

On my (English) system, they're hl2_sound_misc_dir.vpk and hl2_sound_vo_english.vpk.

VPKs can be opened with GCFScape or other tools. Heck, the command line vpk.exe / vpk_linux32 can list the entire contents of files using vpk l [vpkfilename]

This guy just posts all over about "problems" that aren't problems.
Usually nobody replies. The few times i've seen replies, nothing happens, and posts continue.

yeah i tried GFCscape and i dont find anything using it. model files does not contain any vpk files so i got lost

but i still got a steamCMD with css on it and in order to play anything the file has to be within those folders dont they?

do i zip a folder and then i look thro it with GFCscape? if not then im lost using it.

ah wait, so the folders/files are just inside those 10-14 VPK packets mhm il continue on this then. ja sorry for not finding it out sooner, i had alot of work to do lately.
but the nja, its in css but i cant view it when i put the modelviewer to css gameinfo.txt possible to extract the wpk files?
and im trying a few commands to make a normal prop to not being solid and making it unsolid. just being simple using prop_dynamic_create here,

Use the valve wiki or something like common sense. It's all there.

yeah dude but still, try finding this with that program
vo/npc/vortigaunt/vortigese12.wav
cause i dont find that in any of the wpk packets but i found alot of new sounds in the wpk packet but still there is more. need to continue my stuff

and it plays for everyone on the server when i run it. but checking out the files within SteamCMD in cstrike there, there is only the first vpk packets that i can find. they have all the stock sounds for weapons etc and all those sounds + a few ones like opera and backround music.

only able to open the C:\steamcmd\server\cstrike\cstrike_pak_dir.vp k loaded.
if i open any of the C:\steamcmd\server\cstrike\cstrike_pak_012.vp k loaded. it shows as blank

so by then im guessing its all on the cstrike_pak_dir.vpk the name says a little too. and that sound is not in there. and i know off more than just that. but before i say anything more il open up all the vpk packets, bet its gonna be without luck annyway.
i just get an error when opening the pak_010.vpk wich i doubt has the sound file annyway but i guess its possible.

lame, i gave you perfect example of a sound that is not shown in the vpk package nor any other place i can recall right now.

so where are they?
well for me as a noob at exacly "this" and finding this
vo/npc/vortigaunt/vortigese12.wav
is literally impossible and since no one else seems to know where the other "files compared to the rest of the vpk packets are" then what. just gonna end the topic? where else could it be lol. u can play the sound, i can play the sound. its not in the vpk packet and then i got no clue. and if any case the GCFscape cant show it all then il try this
"the command line vpk.exe / vpk_linux32 can list the entire contents of files using vpk l [vpkfilename]"
