Also, if you need to query the Steam API (@
https://api.steampowered.com/ ) for a game server, you would need the 64 bit Server Steam ID, at least, last time I tried you would require that.
That's another addition to why I would suggest working with the so-called "64 bit Steam ID's", you won't need to convert from one to another format...

I can't accont for "all" Source games.
But CS:S, CS:GO, L4D2 and TF2 (I heard!) should have the sv_setsteamaccount. I have been using it for CS:S since it was announced with the TF2 quckplay rules, I believe around ~Feb 2014?

Then your server will be provided with an anonymous ID, that won't be persistent.
Since CS:GO requires them, you're safe for CS:GO (except for LAN servers with sv_lan 1, etc).
