I was wondering if this is possible and if so how it could be done (TF2)?

Assuming you mean world coordinates, have you checked m_WorldMins, m_WorldMaxs on the world entity?

Yes I do and no I haven't. I've been searching around here and in the datamap dump for things like "skybox" (wild guess was to be able to refer to the actual world size from this) and "mapsize". For some reason (derp) "world" didn't come up...

Some times returns an inaccurate value if the map is horribly made.
