Hey guys, is the server working for you after the update? mine crashes with a "#Reference count". It was working yesterday... i'm using just metamod 1.10.0-hg849 and d2 fix ups.

Yes I did. If you do this you will have to edit gameinfo.txt and steamref.ini again.

This does not work. It gives me tons of various errors when trying to start the server.
I am not sure if that vpk.exe is going to work, but I think it should. Look closely at the command line args in my quote - I don't bother moving files to the dota folder - I cd to \dotaserver\dota, invoke the vpk.exe from its folder in Alien Swarm, and pass the other args normally.

ok so i followed this set of instructions given in this link

so i get my server up and running and it shows the GC connection established line..
however i need to stay connected to the internet for the server to keep running and if i disconnect my internet then it says "connection to steam servers lost"

how do i fix this?

i went ahead with the internet connected and after the server is established i start dota 2 and via the console i use the command "connect localhost" and get the game screen.. i then put in the command "jointeam good" and get my name on the radiant side player list however after that i get an error saying no steam logon and my game ends

how do i fix this (that is if i need my internet connected for the server to run) ?

this is my error that happens when i am connected to a router which is not connected to the internet (one we use to play multiplayer games on lan)

this is the guide i followed

however if i connect to the net then my server works fine and this is what i get..

but what im guessing the problem is that im in college and our college routers dont allow port forwarding and we cant play multiplayer lan using them..
i use "connect localhost" command and get the game screen and join the radiant perfect but how do i get the others to join my game? which im guessing cant happen because of the port forwarding problem in my college router
