Hello,

Since CS:GO beta SRCDS is out I would like to discuss issues I have faced already and if anybody solved them.

Being an owner of wowmod plugin I tried porting it to cs:go, after disabling few features gameserver actually works absolutely fine but not the client. What is worse, client crashes on so many features that the only solution I see now is disabling everything which contradicts my objective.

Here is the list I have so far:
1. client crashes on r_screenoverlay
2. CSSPlayer m_vecPunchAngle does not exist (no more option to alter recoil?)
3. CSSPlayerResource m_bPlayerSpotted does not exist (no more option to hide/display players on radar?) - possibly m_bSpotted will work.
4. TE effects are not visible (not working?) - CS:GO has a lot less materials, but TE still works if existing material is picked
Noticed insane amount of client crashes player hurt events if the data is altered by plugin
Client crashes on any player death event with weapon set to something invalid like "Spell" (worked fine in CS:S)
A lot more client crashes I can not trace yet...


Does anybody know any debugging scheme for working with client crashes? It is insanely frustrating compared to server crashes. P.S. Server seems to be alright, only crash I experienced is when first player connects to the game and joins spectators, bots spawn and crash server

A lot of materials and sprites don't exist any more (we had to change the one SM uses for sm_beacon etc.), but TEs themselves are definitely working in the latest snapshot on CS:GO.

Are you sure CSGO even has a CSSPlayer object? I'd think it'd be CSGOPlayer...

It's CCSPlayer, just as in CS:S.
