Yeah im not sure why that guy bumped my old thread but....

A kind soul sent me an extension that works in linux that gives bow crits so, basically solved. It would be nice if it was fixed SM side of course and if it worked in windows(even though all our servers are linux now).

The spy knife never seems to fire a TF2_CalcIsAttackCritical either, for obvious reasons. Is there any other way to check when somebody is firing? Sorry for slight off-topicness. Also my question may not be applicable, I don't have time to reinstall SM right now but I will be doing so shortly.

With SM 1.2.x you could check GetClientButtons for IN_ATTACK or IN_ATTACK2, it would have to be checked OnGameFrame though.

The dev SM 1.3.x has a specific hook that eliminates the need to check OnGameFrame, but since I don't use it I can't help you with it.

Well, getting +ATTACK kinda sucks because you can hold down left click and repeatedly attack the air, and the script will still think you've only fired once

Thanks for the 1.3.X tip though, I'll look into it.

PlayerRunCmd. I've not used it myself, but it's meant for that kind of thing.

It doesnt. I already tested it. : /

It may make it easier to fix now, perhaps now theres some function like the critscalc function, but I wouldnt be the person to find out.

But no, they still dont crit with crits plugin enabled.

The knife has the same problem as the bow, a seperate critical calc function. Its possible to fix with a patch, just like the one being made for the bow right now.
