There is no hlbeta currently. Just update your server using hldsupdatetool and whatever build it gives you is the latest build. The build number may not always change with each update

We have released an update to Half-Life 1 dedicated servers. This update fixes a potential vulnerability in the challenge/response protocol uses for out of band queries (in particular A2S_RULES and A2S_PLAYERS responses). The update also fixes sprays not functioning correctly when new users join a server. Also as a reminder, we will be disabling the older heartbeating protocol later this week so you need to update to be listed on the master server. This change only effect the server side, any clients (i.e server list generators or management tools) will be unaffected by this change. - Alfred

Anyone knows which port needs to be opened for HLDS update ?

Open all ports in the range of 27000 and 27050. That is easier than trying to guess the right port

There is no update on cs 1.6 since month, i doubt they will fix something now... We should wait cs 2.0... (not cs GO)

You can decide what port your server should run on. Default is 27015. I am running multiple servers so I am using port 27014 - 27018.

I updated mine a few days ago and it fixed the "Your server is out of date please update and restart" thing even though it was running the latest version. Because of that it didn't show on the server list, it does now.
So they do fix some things, but this update was also long underway.
