Have to press log in each time I visit

I've just installed a new Windows on my computer, and now, each time I visit, I have to press the "log in" button before I can log in. I checked the "remember me" box, and whenever I press "log in" I don't have to type my password.

I am sure there is a setting which may be wrong, but I didn't do anything before and I haven't done anything now.

I am running FireFox on Windows 7 Ultimate.

is it to visit web sites like this one that your password isn't saved ?

try the same thing with IE.
try a portable version of the orangefox, to identify your problem.

I am not using bookmarks and FireFox knows to visit this site using https.

It happens for me too sometimes with chrome.

Works fine for me using Chrome and Silk. I used to have this problem before https was forced

So there is no apparent fix for this?

Once I am logged in and I do not close my browser it does not log out. Even if I close the tab and open it again I am still logged in. It only happens when I start my computer and only on my main one.

I'm surprised it keeps the session for that long. Usually it would log out after 5 minutes of inactivity but it doesn't.

Clear your cookies, restart your browser, then only use https to view this site. That might work.

It has been months since I have logged into this site (not including the mod panel)

I've probably logged into AlliedModders (from my desktop) 5 or 6 times in 5 years and I usually know what caused it (clearing cookies and such). I'm also still on http meaning I haven't logged in since it was changed to https.
