Glad you agree as that's what I started doing when I started using Travis.

Although I do need to update my Travis build scripts to grab SM 1.6.1 instead of 1.6.0.

As far as I know, the plugin doesn't actually leak handles, it just uses a huge amount of them as it has multiple handles for each item of the schema.
The version MasterOfTheXP linked is basically this one, with the items_game.txt string replaced to tf2_items_000.vpk.
There's an issue open about the number of max handles being too low which mentions this plugin: https://bugs.alliedmods.net/show_bug.cgi?id=6065

I'm not too happy about this either..

I think I'll go back to version 1.8.17.7 which didn't crash as much as this newest version.
