Hello guys
I cannot start MetaMod on cstrike server installed on a linux.
Yes, cstrike has been updated to orangebox engine!

Infact, under orangebox i can see metamod-fatal.log:
"Could not find path for: bin/tier0_i486.so"

I have tried with .vdf and gameinfo.txt mode... does not start...
With HLSW i see that metamod works on windows servers...

Any help?
Thanx for your suggestions

[edit]
also, this morning i see that TF2 has the same matter... i will check left for dead 2... i hope that Bailopan or metamode developers staff will fix it :-)

Thank you for any help

Did you download Metamod:Source 1.8.2? You need the latest version to run on CS:S OB or the latest TF.

Hello Bailopan, how are you?

Well, i'm sorry for mine previous quick post without any details.

Anyway, as you know yesterday valve released a new port of Counter-Strike Source on orange.

My servers has been updated, but metamod wont work.

I have tried 1.8.2 stable and also, from snapshots area, the latest:
1.9.0-hg720.tar.gz

As i wrote, with both way, cannot start (gameinfo.txt and .vdf) it write a log called: "metamod-fatal.log"

with segnaled error: "Could not find path for: bin/tier0_i486.so"

Also, on my TF2 (orangebox too) after a update from valve has the same issue.

I have tried obviously CS:S and TF2 with the latest OB engines as fresh new install (not updated) and it still wont work.

I made a search on my server and i found "tier0_i486.so" on older installations of CS:S and TF2, but not on newest OB.

On the newest OB i can find different .so called stier_486.so (i hope its right, i cannot remember right now).

If it will help, i found through HLSW a CS:S server updated with OB and metamod working, it says (i hope i remember right) 1.8.4V but it is a windows server....

I am doing something wrong?

Thanx in advance for your suggestions.

Geez, I used ln -s ./libtier0.so ./tier0_i486.so in bin folder and my server crashed for more than an hour even if I didn't have any addons to load. I tried 'rm ./tier0_i486.so' in the bin folder but it didn't help. Then miracleousely server became stable and now I'm not really looking forward to try luck for the second time and risk an even longer crash without an apparent reason. Screenlogs didn't show any error.

Any other ideas on how to fix this thing?

FIXED:

Used MM 1.8.2. from http://www.sourcemm.net/downloads/mm...linux.tar.gz/5

But it still wouldn't work. Then I used this VDF and it worked

"Plugin"
{
"file" "../cstrike/addons/metamod/bin/server"
}

Okay, this is for Bailopan, i hope it will help.

First of all, "srcds_run" has a bug about -autoupdate command, but this is a valve matter.

Today i made an "update" trough steam command (not -autoupdate) and inside install root three newest files are shown:
test1.so
test2.so
test3.so

Now, metamod works just only with .vdf /thanx karil), 1.8.2 stable and 1.9.0 snapshot works well, but, HLSW does not show that metamod is up, obviously the command "meta version" works fine!

I wonder why, metamod on windows server is shown by HLSW and is not showed on linux server.

Okay, thanx to Bailopan and his work, keep going on!
Thanx again.

xer, glad to hear it's basically working. I believe the HLSW thing is a bug in the Orange Box server info protocol. Valve doesn't seem interested in fixing it - the transition from Episode 1 brings such bugs into CS:S

Thank you again for your work, Bailopan.

For the records, today valve fixed the "-autoupdate" issue, and with latest updates, "test1.so test2.so and test3.so" disappeared, maybe has been used from them for fixing "srcds_run".

Metamod 1.8.2 works very well!
Cheers to everybody!
