well i might know ur problem. it might be cause ur ip address isnt public yet, thats what happened to me at first. you have to do something with ur iptables/ipchains (i have no idea how to do that, my dad is a comp programmer so he did it for me). if im not correct plz corrrect me.

Well i'm using currently using a the auto installer & I have a router. Was it caused because I have a router?

no u need a router and u need to open it in ur firewall.

a. make sure sv_lan is set to 0

b. forward your ports on your router - http://portforward.com/english/route...outerindex.htm
at the very least: port 27015 tcp (27015 being default port for a server if you have not changed it)

c. forward same port in any software firewall you may have (notron's internet security or whatever it's called, ZoneAlarm, etc.)

d. go to steam forums or check their support section for additional help.

uhhh i got symantec anti virus how do I port the ip or something to the firewall?
