This plugin will enable custom icons for either AMXx admins, or for specific SteamIDs.

This plugin requires Latest AMX Mod X!
This plugin no longer requires the Engine Module

The plugin is entirely configurable through a .conf file.
The .conf file is to be located in ns/addons/amxmodx/configs/icons.conf


Inside of the conf file, you will be able to either assign a specific SteamID, or an access group an icon.

How do I assign a SteamID an icon?

Simply add a line in the conf file looking like: STEAMID ICON

Example - To assign myself the awesome pirate icon, you would add:

STEAM_0:1076 pirate999

to your icons.conf


How do I assign an access group an icon?

Simply add the letter of access group (for example, for the reserved slot access group, you use the letter b), and then add the icon trailing it. All access group letters are visible in the default users.ini provided with AMXx.

Example - assign all holders of reserved slots the medpack icon:

b medpack999

Will this work with any mod other than NS?

No. Don't ask.

How do I assign a server operator icon?

There are four shortcuts available for assigning people/groups server op icons. They are:

:op: - Assigns somebody the standard GREEN icon
:yellowop: - Assigns somebody a YELLOW server op icon
:redop: - Assigns somebody a RED server op icon
:blueop: - Assigns somebody a BLUE server op icon

Note: Do NOT add a color after these shortcuts!


How do I apply color to an icon?

If you notice in the first example, the icon "pirate999" was used.
The last three numbers in the icon string is the color mask to apply. They are the RGB values, 0 = 0%, 9 = 100%.

If your icon already is colored (such as the provided pirate/medpack icons), it's recommended to use "999" as the icon's color string, else it may appear awkward in game.

If your icon is grey-scale (such as the provided "greyhive", "greyoc", and "greyalienres"), then it's best to play around to find an appropriate color.


How do I assign a developer/guide/playtester/veteran/const icon?

You don't. Support for that was dropped when support for custom icons was added into NS.

There is no reason to smurf as Flayra.


My icons aren't displaying/downloading to clients! Wtf?

Check your server console (NOT logs -- the actual console), it will output information is the icon cannot be used.

Also verify that for specific icons, you provided a color string! This is mandatory for all icons except the following: p:, :redop:, :blueop:, :yellowop:, :default:


A user in an access group doesn't want a custom icon, what do I do?

Add the user's SteamID with the icon string as :default:

Example - Let's assume player 1 is a developer. His SteamID is "STEAM_0:1:2345", he's in an AMX Access group for a reserved slot on a server, but would rather have his developer icon show, rather than the reserved slot icon (assuming one was assigned), so you add this for his SteamID:

STEAM_0:1:2345 :default:

i've place the 640_*.tga file to /ns/gfx/env/
my icons.conf is in ns/addons/amxmodx/

inside icons.conf is:

b gorge999 t fall999 l hive999 r onos999 m turret999

the plugins successfully loaded up when i type amx_plugins but i don't see anybody have icon
did i do something wrong???????
