still downloads and plays the ambient only way to stop it if i set zr_ambientsounds_volume "0.1
or remove zr_ambientsounds_file "ambient/zr/zr_ambience.mp3" then i just get the console error missing file etc

Thanks, now fixed in rev 520.

Have a look at my automated builds (unofficial releases, they may not work!). There's a base revision (currently 514), and patches containing only changed files after that revision.

i set custom zr_ambientsounds_file and zr_ambientsounds_length but default zr_ambience.mp3 anyway downloads (r580)

It's caused by the config bug in SourceMod 1.2. Get SM 1.3 when it's released.
