If you were wondering what I'm talking about, "yes, it worked with anonymous login" in the past. That's how I got my CS 1.6/HLDS server files downloaded through SteamCMD.

I don't know much about how anonymous login work nowadays though, it's still seem to be available for CS GO and other games as confirmed by Spirit_12. In other words, there is no realistic reason that you "should" login to your personal Steam account just to get some dedicated server files downloaded. It's just server files, that does not magically make anyone run a game that they didn't purchase through Steam or something disastrous.

There is certainly something shady about SteamCMD being so buggy for the CS 1.6 app as it has been reported to the officials for so long, at least that's how it is for the so called "anonymous" login. It's obvious what's going on since after all, it's just business.

How come, running the command "multiple times" as said in your mysteriously edited quote above and getting the CS 1.6 server files completely downloaded through the anonymous login makes it "never" worked with anonymous login?

Were you even "aware" that anonymous login "used to" work with SteamCMD CS 1.6 server files download?

Working means to me i do a command one time and it's done. Having to do a command a not fixed amount of time again means something is wrong, or do you think different about this? Something like that says to me: "Just keep doing, some when you may have luck." That's nothing i would say "it works".
But: if i login to steam it really works. I don't need to spam a stupid command again and again hoping that some when steam thinks that it will now accept my command to download all files i want.

Yes, really never as the bug that causes this exists since steamCMD exists, so yes, i never got it working first time doing the update command. "Never" is not a fixed time period or requires a needed time to allow using the word "never".

That's weird because I "have used the anonymous login" in SteamCMD last year and my server is online right now.

No one said that they got it to work on the "first" try using the anonymous login. So keep the bug aside as it's in Valve's hands.
