My community has noticed that any time a map is change whether by an admin or automatically the server will crash using the newest version of this plugin. I have also noticed crashing if one simple tries to change the hostname.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

What indicates that it is this plugin?
There is nothing in the code that should be possible of causing crashes.

I know it is this plugin because when the plugin is loaded, and I change the map, the server crashes. I have removed the plugin and tested again, the server does not crash.

I have dug into this deeper and found that it is caused by the fact that I am using the following cvar: rank_connectsoundfiletop10 ""

The error message my Winblows machine returns is: Host_Error: CEngineSoundServer:recacheSound: Bad string:

When I change the cvar back to "tf2stats/top10.wav" the server does not crash.

From my previous post, you already know that I would like to have a version that does not include custom sound files. I really hate making my players download more than just my maps. I am sure that we can agree that making players wait forever to download files results in them canceling the connection to the server and playing elsewhere.

To further elaborate on the connect speed issue, I did a little bit of testing. For a new player to download all of the custom content on your server, it requires that the player wait 1 min 54 seconds. My server only makes players wait 40 seconds to download the map and connect. (that is when my trading server and other tf2 servers are not completely bogging down the fast download.) My internet connection is 50 mbps down and 5 mbps up, so it is likely that other players may have to wait for even longer period of time if they have dsl or crappy cable internet.

The top10 sound is only 34,4KB, so it's tiny. I don't think anyone has to worry about people disconnecting about that, i don't think it's even possible to click that fast :-)

I hope you can figure out why it's playing randomly DN.

The size of the file isn't the point. With the more custom files you add, the longer players have to wait. And tbh, if servers are only using this file, or have very few custom files, it would probably be in their best interest to not bzip this file. I would not bzip this because it is incredibly small and wouldn't take long to download. On the other hand extracting the file may have side effects. I have noticed that extracting files uses 100% or a core which will cause the computer to hang while this process is taking place (this adds more time to wait as well).

It seems that I am having a new problem with this plugin. Sometime today all of my servers on a machine went down and the last thing in all of the logs is this:

[SM] MEMORY LEAK DETECTED IN PLUGIN <file (TF2_Stats.smx")
[SM] Unloading plugin to free 15397 handles.
[SM] Contact the author(s) of this plugin to correct this error.

The weird thing is that this specific machine is running Linux and screen sessions did not terminate. The servers acted as though they were still available even though they were not. It's sad that my server rank of #3 is surely going to drop from this. : (

I have been suspecting a memory leak because I am forced to restart my machine every 3 days due to very limited available ram.

server hop has caused me some issues in the past... server would lock up but not crash so the watchdog script never knew to restart it... not sayiong that is the issue, but removing it fixed the issue for me...
