yeah for sure, I was just demonstrating the loss. I saved as jpg in PS and opened in Paint like you said, saved as 256 bit. I found it all too depressing to continue, 256 bit is the worst to work with for anything.

Not true. There's a way to make 8-bit .bmp files look like that .png file.

There's ways to save it via Photoshop and maintain most of the quality still. Paint isn't very good for compressing something that's mid/high quality.


BMP 256 8-bit


How?

Photoshop:
-Open the image
-Image tab
*Mode
*Index
-Save as
*.bmp
+8-bit

Done.
