Dota 2: cannot select an hero

In dota 2, when a client connects to the server I automatically join him to the team (dire/radiant). Sometimes they couldn't select an hero when all 10 players are connected and the hero selection window opens.

Any idea what can be the reason for that?

Not really familiar with DOTA2, but are you running the D2Fixups extension?
