[TF2] Gag or mute won't work

Hi guys, long time lurker.

I just started my own server and am having a few minor issues. The gag and mute options will not work on my server. The command is issued, but the player can still type or talk.

I have removed ALL plugins that deal with Chat and or Commands, restarted the server then tried again to no avail.

Anybody else ever run into this problem and find a fix?

Try removing every single plugin first except the one handling mutes. I had an issue with a plugin overriding mutes/gags even though I didn't expect it to be doing that.

I have removed all that I suspected to be causing the issue. I suppose I should do as you stated.

Would just disabling them suffice, or do I have to fully remove them? Also, can I remove just the smx file or do I have to remove all associated files with the plugin?

I have removed ALL plugins that aren't base with Sourcemod.. still gag is not working and neither is mute.

This is very annoying as sometimes both these are needed.

EDIT: Never mind. There was one plugin i forgot. Chattag plugin was disabling gag

And for future reference, to delete a plugin you can do the following:

Delete the .smx, then change the map or restart the server
Type 'sm plugins unload <pluginname>' <--- This one is temporary

Edit: Something I've found to be very helpful is to make a new folder and put every plugin in it, and then slowly add in 5 plugins at a time to the actual plugins folder. Once the error starts happening, all of a sudden you're down to just 5 plugins to figure out instead of dozens.

You don't even need to restart. just sm plugins refresh and you should be good. At least that is how I do it. I never restart and after removing the smx and refreshing the issue cleared up instantly.
