[FF2] Anti-Solo Rage

Description:
No more solo raging that last annoying scout, sorry buddy!

Figured I'd release my private plugins, maybe someone can pick up on them.

CVAR:
  • sm_antisolorage_bypass "" - Which bosses do you want to bypass the anti solo rage? (doesn't matter how you list the bosses in this string, as long as the boss name corresponds with the name in your characters.cfg)

Installation:
  1. Download antisolorage.smx attached at the bottom of this post.
  2. Drag and drop the antisolorage.smx to your addons/sourcemod/plugins/ folder.
  3. Restart the server/map.

and yeah the rage noise spam won't be fixed till someone creates another issue on the ff2 github, but this still works.
Attached Files
File Type: smx antisolorage.smx (11.8 KB, 118 views)
File Type: sp Get Plugin or Get Source (antisolorage.sp - 229 views - 2.2 KB)

does not make sense.
You can use the pre ability forward to cancel, or egen block their taunt.
Also, why not make this an ability the boss has, instead of listing each?

isnt that what I'm already doing? - using the pre ability forward to block the rage. Blocking only the taunt won't work because the rage can also be activated by calling for medic.

What's the difference? Either way, you'd be listing something if I did that. This is mostly intended for all bosses except for maybe 1 or 2, so it's easier to just drag n drop and it works, instead of having to configure even more cfgs.

On one hand that's convenient, on the other hand that avoids the set way of doing things already established.

I'd say the convenience overrules the other hand, in my opinion. Especially when I use to run an ff2 server that had 50 bosses, there's no way I'd add this to each individual character_name.cfg, that's just ridiculous.

Yep, it's a disadvantage to the boss. When I ran an ff2 server, people always complained about getting solo raged, and in my eyes, I didn't think it was very skillful to just solo rage the last person, so that's why I made this.

So instead of actually fixing the problem, you create a new one by arbitrarily giving the hale a disadvantage?

I actually nerfed soloraging for hales that have a player stun ability in my FF2 fork.

Long story short, the rage duration scales depending on players caught within radius. The less players, the shorter the duration. Whatever is specified as the duration is the MAX duration.

The problem: Solo raging 1 player. Hence why it is called "Solo Raging".
My solution: Block the rage when 1 player is within the raging radius.

hey but thanks for showing some worth to this discussion by leaving feedback of how to improve this plugin. lol

yep, i believe this is what chdata does on his vsh fork as well. unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to do this with the ff2 natives.
