Hi
I have Counter-Strike 1.6 server with amx mod x , hldsguard 1.4.3 PRO and sygate personal firewall but still some guy crash my server. Can someone tell my how to protect the server or how to setup the firewall ?

P.S: I am sorry for my bad english!

if the dude was IN the server then enable antiflood.amxx
but if its a random dude ddosing you then make sure ONLY ports ur servers use are open, the rest arwe blocked

But how to block all ports?

if the servers on your computer, then for now turn on windows firewall (dont know about linux) but make sure ONLY needed ports are open.

21 for ftp (if u need it)
27015 (or wahtever your cs server port is)
and I THINK 80 for internet (i dont rememebr)
if windows firewall is running, if you start up cs or whatever it will give you a very annoying popup asking to unblock the port. if you see that you are good to go

vista - start>control panel>security>windows firewall> turn windows firewall on or off.
xp will be something like it, it should be easy to figure out by the directorys i gave ya for vista

Ports have nothing to do with ddosing 1 computer on a 8mbps downstream standard broadband whatever..

The best thing for you to do is change your ip, and your server name so he doesnt find you.
