Alright I installed SM and I'm ready to start scripting. I've been to the Wiki and it doesn't tell me much. Is there a real "this is how you get started, Hello World" page somewhere like most languages have?

I have an ES script that basically creates a radar for me and 3 of my team mates and it's at the limit of what ES can do. I would like to create this in SM and see just how much better it is. I could post the part of that script that does the actual radar function but I don't know how you folks are about posting code of any kind here.

posting any code here is fine usually. Linking to ES will generally get pulled (via an automatic script).

It's not hard to get started, you can look through the folder addons/sourcemod/scripting/ for some existing plugins included w/ sourcemod, and addons/sourcemod/scripting/includes/ and the inc files to find out some natives.

You c an use existing plugins as examples as well.

If you want help on the scripting stuff just hop into #sourcemod on gamesurge.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I believe I will wait until you guys get a decent tutorial before I try using SourceMod. I was really looking forward to seeing the diff but it's way too hard to just look at examples and follow them. Looking at ES examples on the other hand are pretty easy to follow. They actually make sense to me.

I'll check back in a few weeks and see how much progress you've made on your documentation.

Ok, SumGuy14 talked me through a "Hello World" example. You REALLY should write one of those and put it on your Wiki.

There is one - http://wiki.alliedmods.net/My_First_Script

It needs a compiler example.

Hello! Glad to hear you're starting SourceMod ;)

We have a large introductory article to Pawn but it's for AMX Mod X. We'll touch it up and release a SourceMod version very soon.

I could not find that from any of the links I tried. That's much better than anything else I've seen. Thanks
