r_screenoverlay requires sv_cheats 1 to be enabled, no?

yes it does but only when a client uses it. if the command is executed from any type of server side plugin it wont matter.

This plugin will never correctly work.

AFAIK the selected overlay only renders correctly in directX 9/+ mode (not all people run at 9) but more importantly overlays often turn themselves off seemingly at random - so your drugged players will have no drugs/overlay some of the time.

While overlays are nice... they are far from "reliable" which is something you should value with punishment type plugins.

Maybe valve have updated the overlays for the OB engine (ive not checked) in which case this plugin could become slightly more useful if they do not turn themselves off.

hm i have not seen the overlay go off, but if what you say is it, would you care to give out a time period? i could just make a timer on players...

its at random.

Sometimes it stays on for ages, sometimes it goes off in a few seconds.

Testing with counterstrike source it seems to reset itself on some events.. like round end.. changing player views... spawning... getting killed... sometimes it happens, sometimes it does not.

Even if you setup a timer forcing the command to be sent every second it could still flash on and off.. and not to mention the bandwidth and CPU usage would be rather high for multiple players being activated.

AFAIK there is no good "work around" to ensure the overlay is visible on the client.

hm i guess i could try using the think hook even sdktools supports dynamic hooking instead of using gameframe..

it works fine here, i tested it couple of times and have you also tried using the menu? ill do a recheck.

I only tested by the RCON server. I think the result would be the same through the menu.

sm_crazy-drug <player>

to toggle it on/off.
