Whatever you prefer is the best option for YOU to use.

For running game servers, I would however take Linux systems, such as Linux Debian (Ubuntu is based on Debian).

I would always take the version of the system without the GUI (Graphical User Interface). Running game servers, you do not want a heavy Desktop GUI to eat up your system's resources.

Since i7-6700 is a 4 core CPU, running 4 servers would be a good choice.

A lot of other things such as how many player slots, what plugins you use / intend to use, etc. also plays a huge role.

I would always pick Linux for the ease of signature look up, but that doesn't apply to CS:GO. Its an even playing field, so I would say go with what you are more comfortable with.

I recommend Windows Server, better load distribution. Ubuntu is not bad. I use both, so I know what's better for what app. Windows UI doesn't eat up performance ...

If some company is developing an application, and due to their better expertise with the one system (e.g. developing for Linux) makes it work a lot better with Linux, you cannot blame Windows for that.

The same goes the other way around, if they're developing one that works better for Windows, than it does for Linux, you cannot blame Linux for that either.

It is the application developer you should blame there, and not the system!

Everything that you have running will eat up system resources, and since it does that, it will also reduce the overall performance of your system by using those resources, compared to if these useless things wasn't there at all.

You don't want useless things to steal those resources from your game servers...

The official Valve CS:GO servers runs on Linux, if that helps you with your choice...

GameTracker's worldwide top 50 of CSGO currently shouts out; 30 servers running Linux, 15 running Windows, and 5 servers that does not respond to the query.

Linux. Linux. Linux.
You never need to reboot (unless your package manager sucks) and you can go full CLI.

I recommend Debian over Ubuntu as Ubuntu is more bloated.
However my personal favorite is Arch Linux - not because of the "cutting edge rolling-releases" but because it's really lightweight in its barebones, and the package manager can easily let you install things quickly and easily. If you go with Arch, I highly recommend to check their website every time before you run a system upgrade.

Okay, thanks guys! What about this CPU? Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1270 v3

My plan is to host on Linux
- Jailbreak - 32 Slots CSGO - 64/102Tick
- MiniGames - 32 Slots CSGO - 102Tick
- Zombie Escape - 42 Slots CSGO - 64Tick
- Standard Server - 24 Slots CSGO - 128Tick
- Retake Server - 10 Slots CSGO - 128Tick
- Unknow server - Max 24 Slots CSGO - 64/102/128Tick

Will it could host that with full servers?
