Why spam bots are going to trash instead of deletion?

If I recall correctly, until now they were deleted and marked as `Spam Bot`.
What was changed?

I've been taking care of most of the spam, however I do not have the capabilities of "permanently deleting" these threads (only option I have is "soft delete"), I believe only administrators are able to do this. I'm nuking the threads and banning the spambots as fast as I can! The description of the Trash section: "Trolls, spam etc. You may find some posts in here offensive."

Definitely lots of them the past week or so.

Soft deletes look nicer.
I thought it used to leave the whole "This thread was deleted" bar withing the forum, it either changed to no longer see that or i'm just delusional.

Yeah, looks like it's hidden now. I thought it stayed as thread deleted as well, but I just opened up a different session where I'm not logged in and now I think anything deleted as spam is simply hidden, which is nice. Last weekend when we got nailed with several spam bots the forums were pretty cluttered with deleted threads.

The answer clearly is because they only belong in the waste bin.
