When I logged onto my server, SMAC told be my password is "***" (censoring password)
How do I change that? I think this was done via rcon...

Edit: Ignore ^, totally confusing I wasnt clear enough; I posted this a while ago when I was younger, but it appears to still be a problem


Edit: I would love to change the title... What appears to be going on all this time is that whenever a client connects, the console prints out some kind of password... Until it printed my own I wasnt sure what it was... It prints out steam account passwords and sometimes gibberish like apples -_-

if someone were to write something to the console output, ud see it as 'Console: bla', if it started with [smac] then smac spewed it can you paste how the message started?

cant find in the logs....but its the usual output it gives when a user connects...

and my password is set to ***?
why?
i didnt set it....how do i unset it 0_o
btw i have sourcebans....it mightve been done via rcon...
do u know how to unset it?

Did you perchance configure a server admin password?

nope..even some users who connect who I've never seen before have passwords set...
I dont know how who or what....but theres gotta be SOMEthing that sets these passwords on some servers...

Interestingly enough, these passwords work with steam logins... I should report this to steam support but... That would threaten smac wouldnt it... Ok maybe ill inform them about this and see if they take me seriously or not

Nope, never.

There's a couple different passwords it might be printing. It might be the value of your local password cvar, which stores the last password you used to connect to a server.

It might be a SourceMod admin password.

I highly doubt it's a Steam password.

there is no way possible for sourcemod to know a clients steam password. i dont care how internet famous the scripter is it could never be done. maybe provide a sm plugins list to see if it is something else you have loaded?

if u use smac, check to see if you find a password when a client connects to ur server
it should give some kind of password, and some of the ones ive seen like mine show me my steam password. id screenshot if i kept a log before i was a noob ;-;

as long as you have steam guard on other people knowing your password wouldn't matter

as steam guard alerts and send you a login key via email to allow the account to be activated for use on other computer
