Hello I have a problem when people want to play my server (CS SOURCE) I have maps that are very heavy (ze maps or csgo), the typical error of missing map. I have a FastDL but it is only limited to 2gb so the server models occupy a part and other small maps.
My question is, if I delete the materials and maps that weigh little from the FastDl, to upload the maps that weigh, won't it open a problem when people enter the server and have to download the models that are not in FastDL?

You would have to tell the map, to not precache the models/materials.

And ? clients won't join the server, for missing a required map file.

What you can do is to compress .bz2 all files on the webhost, you will save enought space, because Source engine games support .BZ2 compression
instead putting the example
maps/de_dust2.bsp
you can pot only
maps/de_dust2.bsp.bz2
The .bsp map isn't needed there on fastdl webhost, and this will help you with
- Client having super dl speed (little map - archive) .bz2 is an archive will save you at last 60% of disk space
- Little webhost space (files archived)

That will do nothing to reduce the maps file size.

I never mentioned reducing the weight of the map, what I said was to remove the entities that are not needed from the map so that the fastdl does not have the need to store more unnecessary files.

Can I upload BZ2 to server ? ( I just upload BZ2 to FastDl)
