Why would it work? That will break the game, because AI director doesn't know to respawn you.

It used to work for me, until something broke it.

There are also reports of other players having no trouble switching to infected in coop.

I haven't looked at the plugin code, but I'm pretty sure that the reason why people can't switch back to survivor is because its not able to find a bot.

Actually, it could be because of an invalid signature.

The point is, both said they could switch to infected in coop without issues.

I tried it on a brand new server installation, and it still gives me the sphere bug. Could it be that a recent valve patch broke the plugin?

I can get the latest Linux signatures on the fly, but I do not support Windows. Does it error out saying bad signature?

"z_scrimmage_sphere"

I think setting this hidden cvar to 0 will make that giant purple and black sphere go away.

Testing this cvar on my server right now and the errors about spawn_sphere seems to disappear.

Setting "z_scrimmage_sphere" to 0 does make the black sphere go away, thanks!

However it sadly doesn't enable spawning for infected players.

You can use auto infected spawners such as https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=105661
and with a few minor tweaks to its cfg file, it automatically spawns infected. (This affects human players)

You still can't enter ghost mode though. You'll just get placed somewhere out the sight of the survivors

Crashed my game with this error:
1/ - player: UTIL_SetModel: not precached: models/survivors/survivor_gambler.mdl

This occurred when I switched myself to Infected team, on a Coop map (no mercy's intro)
