There was a working plugin that did this for L4D1 but it never worked on L4D2.

The problem is that people are able to reconnect to the server if they leave just before the vote kick turns green and kicks the player. This will
leave griefers and teamkillers a second chanse to just reconnect and ruin the game. Bug was reported here:

Now, what I want is a plugin that simply bans the player with "sm_ban" command for 5 minutes after the server has passed the vote.
It should probably not be that hard to make, so I hope someone is interested.

valve removed the event "vote_passed" in L4D2 that was being used in the plugin that I metioned above. That is why it no longer works. Is there any other events that can be used to check if a client has been votekicked off and left the server just before the server created the ban?

you could try the 'too late to ban' plugin that lets you ban people after they left.

That plugin will not do for L4D2, maybe for counterstrike.
L4D2 is different. You need an automatic ban on the player that left before the vote passed, nothing else.

Well I have an l4d2 local server and I have not had problems with it (mind you, I don't start it up much so I've only banned two people so far )

Also, I do recall a patch that said it would ban them as usual if someone left before their vote kick finished, or am I remembering wrong?

Anyway I'm obviously no help, I'll go back to my corner...

The problem between you and me is that I run dedicated. I don't see what happens in the game most of the times becuase I'm not there. That is why the 'too late to ban' plugin is of no use to me.

And about the patch, no. Valve never fixed this in L4D2.
They did however fix it in L4D1 and announced it in one of their changelogs.

mikhdenis, are you sure the plugin is working? According to the .sp file, it should log whenever a player has been banned by the plugin. It should write this in the logs with other words: [voted_off_ban.smx] Server bans voted off player, yes:%i,no:%

But after running the plugin for nearly one day now, and having several votekicks, I can not find this in any of the logs in sourcemod/logs folder.
Neither can I found anything about the console adding the ban on the player with rcon_lock.smx installed that logs every command executed on the server in a seperate logfile.
Can you tell this to d1maxa?
