Hi. L4D1 had a hidden CVAR (z_lunge_release 1) that allowed the hunter to jump of his pounced victim and jump straight on another survivor (if the survivor was within a special range ofcourse)
This CVAR was then stripped in L4D2.

My question is if anyone could bring back this "re-pounce" to L4D2.
There has been earlier attempts by a few guys here on alliedmodders, but those plugins only allows the hunter to release/dismount himself from the victim. It dosn't let you repounce anyone once you have released from your victim.

If anyone could create this plugin, that would be great.

There are like 3 plugins for that, (also working for charger and jockey) Just search Hunter in the search and try find the pounce uncap plugin.

No, you're wrong. Those 3 plugins are dismount/release plugins only, it dosn't let you re-pounce a victim as hunter. It's a big differense and people who have played L4D1 knows that there are no plugins for L4D2 that brings back the re-pounce ability in L4D2 atm.

Oh yes that, then I have seen someone post the exact same as you did several months ago.. Unluckily there is no solution

Well this coding community is very thin.

Many people seemed to leave L4D2 in sharp form around the time the Sacrifice DLC came out. Arguably some left right around the time the Passing came out.

There are only a handful of coders left that I see actively participating in creating/updating their own plugins and others who have been around but have to time and/or lazy to update their own.

Back to this idea though. I remember in L4D1 the AI hunter would pounce incapped victims all the time. Something they removed from L4D2 as it only happens in L4D2 by accident if another survivor is right near the incapped one.

I wish that could be brought back but I don't see it happening.

That was the plugin I was mentioning, but it is not the same feature as the l4d1 hunter when someone shoves you off you can immediately pounce gain rather than reload your pounce.

I think you have misunderstood. In L4D1, with sm_cvar z_lunge_release 1, the hunter was able to jump from one survivor to another (in one jump). He was able to re-pounce his victim(s) with mouse2.
The Infected release plugin that you're linking to only allows the hunter to release himself from the victim. It's not the same thing, not by a long shot.

Do me a favour and test z_lunge_release 1 on L4D1 and then try the plugin by thraka on L4D2 - you will notice that the plugin dosn't do what the CVAR did in L4D1.
That is what I'm requesting. A plugin that brings back the repounce function (the ability to jump on and off survivors, not the ability to release from the victim and get stuck on the ground like the "Infected Release" plugin by thraka is doing.

Hi Jake84,

I have been searching on different websites in order to find the vtable offsets, but I canīt find onpounceend anywhere, it simply does not exist, although it is in the gamedata txt file... o_O. So I am stuck. Is there a chance you post your modded version of this plugin, regarding the hunter repounce functionality?
