I've heard with the new update coming out for CS:S the cvar sv_airaccelerate will be hidden, which will completely destroy surf on counter-strike source. I was just wondering if there would be any updates which will still allow you to use sv_airaccelerate on servers or any plugins to disable the fcvar_developer flag. Also will the surf be similar to orangebox using a different airaccelerate.

It's a beta, need to wait for the full version to be released to see what is set in stone and final. No point to jump the gun and develop a bunch of fixes for things that may not be permanent in the long run. Just give it time and wait til it's fully done to see what needs to be fixed.

From the valve mailing list:

It will be fixed so no one needs sourcemod to adjust it. Developer has acknowledged the issue

That thread is only talking about setting the default sv_accelerate speed to 5 instead of 10. I am currently running a couple surf servers that will need sv_airaccelerate set to 150 in order to work. Will they be patching this too?

The problem is apparntly to do with hit boxes.

If the accelrate is set higher than 5 the hit boxes lag behind the model making it impossible to kill, this will defo be fixed before final release as its a major problem, plus its marked as Red Urgancy on Valve Forums.

Valve is trying to kill bunnyhopping & surfing. Why?
This section needs further clarification.
They aren't. Movement and strafing issues in the beta were a temporary bug that has now been fixed. The removal of sv_airaccelerate came with the engine, however, its value can still be altered by server owners through the use of plugins like SourceMod.
