It doesn't make sense. Plugin doesn't do any expensive operations at all. Just look at the code. The only way why there may be problems is using of SetTransmit hook of SDKHooks extension. But for me it doesn't affect server fps.

Why not have the whole drawing replaced with in-game builded r_drawmodels 1 on death or for admins only?

Is it possible to draw text on the screen instead of or with the colored dot? If so I have two proposed changes:

Use the "csd.ttf" font found in counter-strike source shared.gcf/cstrike/resources to render the gun the player is carrying.
Show the player's HP
