Which one would be better to run game servers?

Estimated use of SRCDS (SLOTS) :

Processor: 2.2Ghz
Memory: 768MB

Am I correct in my calculations?

SERVER #1

Processor: 2 x Xeon E5504 2.0Ghz
Memory: 16GB DDR3
HDD: 146GB SAS
Link: 50 mbps

SERVER # 2

Processor: 2 x Intel Xeon E5410 2.33Ghz
Memory: 16GB DDR2
HDD: 300GB SAS + 146GB SAS
Link: 50 mbps

Call me crazy but it seems like a lot of hosts overkill the ram and barely cover the CPU requirements. I could be wrong here as most of the time I have no idea what I'm saying, but you could probably run two TF2 servers on that without issue but you would NEVER use that much ram.

That is overkill for Source Dedicated Server. looks like its a Battlefield Dedicated Server. you can use it for SRCDS. are you choosing to run Windows Server 2008R2/2012 or linux Dedicated ?

I know that does not need much ram.

I want to run servers with 66 tick.

I believe I can run 270 slots.

I have machine that i run 8-10 of 32 slots servers with the following config:

2 x Xeon Quad 2.83Ghz + 8GB RAM + 146GB SAS 10k Disk.

There is no big difference between two. You can choose one of them.

ok is it a Quad Core ? or Eight cores?

8 Cpu's for A VALVE Linux dedicated Game Server is XTREME OVERKILL....... but not Everyone Gets Static IP Addresses so people need Professionally Hosted Game Servers 24/7.....
