ok, thanks for the great plugin. Wish to get this mod working instead of dogs mod because his is kind of buggy and i'd like donors to have the ability to use a trail so much appreciated.

Hmm TF2 has the attachment problem, anything attached to a player will be invisible, unless you use the attachments extension. Thats probably why it's laggy, because some plugins for TF2 use OnGameFrame() and teleport the entity to the player position on each frame.

Version 1.1.9 Released!
  • Menu longer deletes/recreates the player's trail when he/she changes colors
  • Fixes several bad coding habits with the entities (defaults to -1 now, instead of 0 (world))
  • Added the ability to change the render mode of trails via cvar sm_trails_render_mode.
  • Defaulted the material to materials/sprites/laserbeam.vmt in hopes of better compatibility.
  • Fixed a bug where players joining spectate would keep their trail.
  • Removed some duplicate coding for entity checks.

I tried to create a plugin that would allow players to attach multiple trails in multiple positions. However, due to reasons that seem to be beyond my understanding, this is proving impossible. If anyone has any insight as to how to attach multiple trails or entities to a player I'd love to hear it!

Is there a way\possible to add an option to remove the player trails on map\gamemode change (I have a GMOD Fretta server, where several players have asked for a trails addon).

However since it keeps the trails on the players on Gamemode change, it might cause a problem for those gamemodes where you don't want a trail giving you away.

Hmm, what signifies a Gamemode change? I have no experience with GMOD. The easiest thing I could do is provide an admin command that enables/disables all trails manually.

It works fine; it depends on your trail render setting. If you want to use the black trail regardless of render setting, use the material "materials/Tools/toolsblack.vmt"

Not sure how you detect it via sourcemod.
However an option for a command that could be added to server.cfg that disables all trails would work I guess.

I already have the majority of that in the next version, as well as multiple trail layouts, I just haven't updated it yet due to the last feature not working properly. But thanks, I'll take a look and see if there's anything that can be improved upon.
