They are useless and sometimes people who did't get banned are using a banned IP.

SourceMod will ban with the identity (that be either Steam ID or IP) that you (or your plugins) choose use.

Option 1) f you are banning your users your self, you are the one that need to stop banning them by IP and switch to Steam ID instead.

Option 2) If it is some plugin on your server that are banning the users, you need to consult that plugin's thread (or it's author) in order to have the plugin adjusted to use Steam ID rather than IP.

Option 3) If people are being banned due to too many RCON failures, you can put your TCP server port behind a firewall that only accepts RCON queries from IP addresses that you trust (e.g. SourceBans, HLstats, ... etc). There might also be cvars to adjust (or disable) the bans, try server command "find rcon" or something look for them.

These options seems to be the only ones you have.

Thanks a lot.

I am not sure what is causing these ip-bans. I am using sourcebans and using the steamids to ban clients.
But still there are appearing some permanent ip-bans that I found in the banned-ip.cfg!

I am only using the sourcemod-admin-interface or the sourcebans-webinterface to ban clients. What do you expect is the reason? The rcon-attempts? Is this the only possibility?
